When Challenged by Gratitude…

There’s been a lot of discussion of the importance of gratitude and why should all write gratitude lists.   Being grateful increases our capacity for joy, optimism and happiness, it increases our motivation, strengthens our immune system and decreases our susceptibility to pain, and strengthens our social connections.

But gratitude is not always easy. (more…)

A Deficiency MOST OF US Have, But Don’t Know About

If you have pain, having trouble sleeping or an autoimmune disorder, has your doctor ever discussed the possibility that you might have a magnetic field deficiency?

Probably not.

Yet a magnetic field deficiency could a underlie a huge range of symptoms associated with auto-immune disorders as well as problems with mental and cognitive health such as depression, anxiety and ADHD.

And in fact, ongoing research in Japan since the 1950’s has shown using magnets that exposure to magnetism is essential for our well-being.

So why do most of us have a magnetic field deficiency?  (more…)

What messages are you broadcasting?

What messages are you broadcasting?

Have you noticed that some people radiate sexiness, smarts or a fun energy?  While others might radiate pathetic, depressed or a more geeky energy?

It turns out we have messages that we often subconsciously broadcast to the universe, or even to ourselves, and much of it underlies how we act and present ourselves to the world.

Setting Boundaries without the Guilt!

Posted by on Jun 11, 2012 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Do you have a hard time standing up for yourself?
Do you feel guilty saying no?
Do you do things you don’t want to to avoid conflict?

Wouldn’t it be better to be able to say “no” guilt-free and without worry of conflict?

Can you imagine a life where YOU have control of your time?

Tonight (6/11/2012) at Greenlake Goal Setters with EFT, we’ll be discussing and using EFT to clear the guilt, worry, etc. and NVC (non-violent communication) as a means to express ourselves in a way that we can be heard and understood.

Look for us in Seattle at meetup.com under Greenlake Goals Setters with EFT!

The cat whisperer via the Emotion Code

Thanks to my cat, Tivoli, I haven’t been getting much sleep lately.

For years now, she’s had the habit of needing my affection just as I turn off my lights and lie down to sleep.  She’d plow her head into mine, persistently, purring all the while, and I’d often hide underneath my covers.  It was usually a struggle between us, but eventually, she’d go away and let me sleep for most of the night.  But the problem has been getting steadily worse.  Till just recently, she was charging into me in the wee hours of the morning, several times a night.

I decided to do some Emotion Code work on her to release trapped emotions underlying her behavior, and her behavior changed (more…)

What is the biggest block to achieving your goals?

I believe its fear.

It may not be a fear we are conscious of.  Its often disguised as overwhelm or procrastination.

Imagine reaching a goal you haven’t been able to reach, whether it’s being healthy, getting that promotion, reaching your income goals, or finding (more…)

Is clearing a lifetime of prejudice that easy?

Is clearing a lifetime of prejudice that easy?

This is something I ‘m very uncomfortable admitting, but I am not as opened minded and universally accepting of all people as I’d like to be.   I’m suspecting I’m not alone.  In order for our brains to remember information, we tend to categorize things, and that includes people too.  So if we have one or several negative experiences with someone of a particular race/class or other characteristic, we may not trust them as much as other groups who we’ve had more positive experiences with.  But I just discovered that prejudice can be epigenetically ingrained as well! Why is it So Hard to Form a New Habit?

You hear it from the news, from friends, from doctors, and even your own inner voice telling you to eat better, exercise more, stop smoking, cut down on the drinking, get more sleep, etc, etc.  Year after year, you resolve at the beginning of the New Year, that this year you’ll make those changes, and sometimes you do, but they don’t last.  Or maybe you’ve put off the change indefinitely, waiting for more inner strength to do so, or waiting until you can’t ignore the problem any longer.

A few years ago, I wrote an article “Can we effect personal change?(more…)
